Shortcuts for Links to Web Sites
Q. I have lots of web site addresses saved in my Favorites list, but there are
one or two where I would like to access more quickly than selecting it from a
list.
What can I do?
A.
To add a ’shortcut’ icon to your desktop
(your main Windows screen) that will take you to a specific website, follow
these steps:
1. Right-mouse-click in the blank area of your
desktop (screen), and then click on New, and
Shortcut.
2. Type the web address of
the desired site and then NEXT.
You do
not need to include the http://
-
just use the
www.xxx.com.
3. Give this shortcut a
name.
Whatever name you type here will be what you
see on the desktop as the name of the
shortcut.
You should see that icon on your screen.
Double-click, and it will take you to that web site.
